If you’ve had enough of the oversaturated Zumba empire, or just want to change up your routine, it may be worth your while to check out the queen of pop’s new dance-workout DVD series, “Addicted to Sweat,” due out on Sept. 5.
This four-disc set is based on Madonna’s daily exercise regimen with personal trainer and professional dancer Nicole Winhoffer. Up until now, the workout was only available exclusively at Madonna’s signature club, Hard Candy. It includes high-energy cardio dance moves but does not skimp on the toning and sculpting. Wondering if it works? Look no further than a recent photo of Madonna. We’d say it gets the job done — and in a fun, fresh way!
While Madonna doesn’t make a personal appearance on the DVD, Winhoffer — who is the creative director of “Addicted to Sweat” — holds it down all on her own. Just don’t get frustrated if you can’t keep up with her killer dance moves at first! Afterward, you may still want to bust a move because the workouts are set to irresistible dance music.
“The name ‘Addicted to Sweat’ represents the level of energy needed: If you aren’t sweating, you aren’t working hard enough,” Winhoffer told Elle Magazine.
And sweat you shall.
On disc one, Winhoffer shows you three cardio dances inspired by different cultures of dance, which include an eclectic mix of step together (two step), cha-cha and, yes, the Electric Slide. No equipment needed.
The only piece of equipment you’ll need for disc two 2 is a towel. But don’t think it’s going to be easy. This workout will tone your upper and lower body and core.
Winhoffer kicks it up a few notches with action-packed moves and high-cardio, fast-paced dancing on disc three. Keep practicing and you’ll be able to keep up!
Be sure to have a sturdy chair ready for disc four. These moves will really engage your core. It’ll hurt, but it will be worth it!
