Melissa Valliant, food and drink editor, graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University with a B.S. in magazine journalism and a B.A. in psychology. Before signing on to HellaWella, she was rocking a senior writer position at Shut Up! Magazine, an independent quarterly music magazine. She also enjoyed unapologetically embracing her opinionated side writing as an opinion columnist for Syracuse University's independent newspaper, The Daily Orange, and acting as editor of (315), a weekly lifestyle newspaper insert with music, movies, fashion, book, food and sex sections.
