BKR: Not your average water bottle
Meet BKR, the bright, colorful, eco-friendly, glass water bottle.
The 16-oz. BKR — pronounced “beaker” — is made out of glass, not typical of your standard water bottle. But as the company claims on its website, “Glass is better for your body and the earth.” The fully recyclable bottle is made of BPA-free, BPA replacement-free, FDA-approved materials. And because glass is chemically inert and doesn’t alter the taste of its contents, “everything tastes better out of glass.”
The fashion-forward BKR, which was launched in April 2011, wears a dishwasher-safe, nontoxic silicone sleeve, which protects the bottle and offers a solid grip. The sleeve is available in a number of colors — from Rocket Red and Smith Green to Surf Blue and Canary Yellow. BKR’s cap is made of food-grade, recyclable polypropylene.
And if you’re not convinced of BKR’s many admirable qualities, check out these BKR-toting celebrities.
And if you’re still not convinced, read the company’s philosophy: “BKR is a statement against a disposable world, against transporting water between continents and against the chemicals we ingest when we base our decisions on convenience.” Now that’s a philosophy we can get behind — and drink out of.
