What was the ah-ha moment that made you start taking your health seriously?
To be honest, I never really had an “ah-ha!” moment. I always had a garden growing up and my parents only shopped at the local co-op. That said, I did pay particular attention to working out when the concept of dating came into scope. Sculpting my (ahem) assets made me feel good about myself …
Do you have a secret habit that is part of your healthy lifestyle?
Pilates!!!! I have been doing Pilates with my friend Elizabeth Ordway at Movement Studio LA for about 10 years. Pilates is the only exercise that really changed my body. It is so precise and so focused and it just works for me.
If you could permanently get rid of one bad habit, what would it be?
Coffee! I love coffee. Espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, iced lattes....
If you could get a free pass forever with one bad habit, what would it be?
Red wine. Here is the one caveat: aren't coffee and red wine actually good for you in moderation? Come on, agree with me here!
What is your greatest health achievement or milestone?
Running the LA Marathon while 12 weeks pregnant.
What is your biggest health hang-up in others?
The concept that you can never be too thin. You DEFINITELY can. In fact, extremes in general really bother me. Finding a good middle ground is so important to your health.
Run, walk, ride or swim?
Ride! I was an equestrian growing up and that love of horseback riding has definitely stayed with me into my adult years. I do swap the horse for a bike or a snowboard nowadays, though.
If you were a fruit or vegetable, what kind would you be?
A shallot, hands down. That way people would remember how to pronounce my name. (Smiles.)
If you could superpower one of your five senses, what would it be, and why?
Probably touch. Um...that might get x-rated.
If you could break a world endurance record, what would it be?
Seriously?! Okay, let me think of another answer...
If you could tell one thing to your adolescent self, what would it be?
Don't waste your time worrying so much about what others think of you! (Oh, if only I could go back and tell her that!!!)
