Almonds pack a nutritional punch that could really help you with your weight-loss or weight-maintenance goals. They are credited with keeping cravings at bay without contributing to weight gain, and with the overall improvement of diets. Almonds are so awesome, in fact, that they get their own special day. Almond Day falls on Feb. 16 and to mark the occasion California Almonds has teamed up with Katie Cavuto, a registered dietician and wellness expert, to create delicious almond recipes, and they've shared some of them with us!

Take this ideal snack to the next level and make this quick-and-easy to make breakfast that will keep you satisfied all morning.


Serves 1



  • 1/2-3/4 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1/2-3/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon orange zest
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon real maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons defrosted frozen raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon sliced almonds



  1. In sauce pan, heat the quinoa, coconut milk, orange zest, spices and maple until warm.
  2. Top with raspberries and almonds. Enjoy!
