The American Diabetes Association has entered into a multiyear deal with Chef'd, an online meal store, that will offer a selection of easy-to-prepare, well-balanced meals to millions of Americans living with or at risk for diabetes.

As part of the meal-kit delivery partnership, the association's vetted and delicious recipes will be brought to life, if you will, with ingredient sourcing and delivery from Chef'd.

Eating healthy and thoughtfully planned meals is especially essential for the 30 million people living with diabetes, not to mention the 86 million people living with prediabetes.

The meal-kits developed though this collaboration make tasty, balanced recipes with fresh ingredients available to Americans seeking convenient and healthy options. Each recipe has been carefully evaluated and selected by the association's registered dietitians to ensure meals meet the its nutritional guidelines for people living with diabetes.

Featured recipes list detailed nutritional information — such as serving size, calories, carbohydrates and dietary fiber — that is essential to preparing healthy meals for people with diabetes and is a benefit to anyone looking to prepare healthier meals at home.

"Eating well-balanced, nutritious meals is a crucial part of diabetes management, and is an important part of a healthy lifestyle for all Americans," said Alicia McAuliffe-Fogarty, PhD, CPsychol, VP of lifestyle management for the American Diabetes Association. "Variety, choice and access to nutritious ingredients are key to making healthy meals a sustainable habit. The recipes that the association creates feature popular ingredients and vibrant flavors with nutritional balance at the core. People living with diabetes and their families can enjoy an association recipe knowing it's a healthy choice that doesn't sacrifice taste."

These meal options will available for purchase and shipment nationwide starting July 25. Customers will be able to purchase meals without membership or subscription fees. For more information, click here.
