Get a jump on flu season with a shot from Walgreens
Walgreens-owned pharmacies, which include its namesake stores, Duane Reade pharmacies and Take Care Clinics, now are offering flu shots daily — no appointment needed. Flu shots are available during all pharmacy and clinic hours, and can now be scheduled online at Walgreens.com.
Take Care Clinics can administer flu shots to patients ages 2 years and above. Be sure to visit the Walgreens website to see what restrictions may apply.
The flu shots are covered under Medicare Part B as well as most insurance plans. In addition, many insurance carriers allow direct medical billing, resulting in little or no out-of-pocket costs for immunization.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a flu shot for everyone over the age of six months and recommends vaccination every season in order to be fully-protected against influenza.
