Runner in the morning

We’ve all been there — for months before a special occasion, we put our all into eating well and exercising regularly. Then, that event arrives and soon after we are easing up on ourselves, saying it’s OK to skip a workout or eat a cheeseburger for lunch and dinner.

The same thing happened to me recently. My wedding was at the end of May, and as soon as I returned from our honeymoon, I let things slip. I made excuses not to go to the gym, and I found myself munching on candy and biscuits (hey, I live in the South), and basically throwing all that healthy eating down the drain.

Thankfully I woke up from this high-calorie coma quickly enough and saved myself from too much damage. But it’s time for me to get back to basics — to refocus my attention on what I’m eating (and drinking) and get off the couch.

As the social media and blogger network director at eMeals, and a Pure Barre instructor, Heather has great tips for living a healthy lifestyle. She recently wrote about staying on point, eating- and exercise-wise, during the summer.
