Home decor in hot fall fashion colors

If you pay attention to the runways — or the streets of fashion-forward cities — this fall, you might notice some bright pops of color. According to the Pantone Fashion Color Report Fall 2012, “fantasy and illusion are inspiring designers this fall season.”

“By playing to consumers’ practical side with versatile neutrals, and boosting their confidence with bold, spirited hues, this skillfully balanced palette has something for everyone,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, a subsidiary of X-Rite and an authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and communication of color across a number of industries.

The 10 colors making their way to the forefront of fashion come fall are:
• Bright Chartreuse, a yellow-green;
• Pink Flambé, a vibrant pink;
• Tangerine Tango, a vivacious color that Pantone recommends pairing with Pink Flambé;
• Ultramarine Green, a deep, cooling blue-green;
• Rhapsody, a grayed-down purple;
• Honey Gold, a mellow, burnished yellow;
• Olympian Blue, a patriotic blue;
• French Roast, an alternative to the black and charcoal basics;
• Titanium, a cool gray; and
• Rose Smoke, a veiled rose tone.
