Hotline offers free lawn & garden advice
If you have a seemingly insurmountable lawn and garden predicament, skip the Web search — because the folks at Briggs & Stratton, which makes engines for outdoor power equipment, are offering real-life experts to help you with your outdoor dilemmas.
The Yard Smarts Hotline — staffed by lawn, garden and equipment experts — is available May 1 to 31 for a free personal consultation, either online or by phone. Visit Yardsmarts.com or call 1-866-YARD-TIPS (1-866-927-3847).
The hotline team will answer any yard-related questions, including how to control weed growth and troubleshooting a lawn mower that won’t start.
“We’ll help everyone who calls and take as long as necessary to get the homeowner the answers they need,” said Trey Rogers, the Briggs & Stratton “Yard Doctor,” an expert on lawn and yard care and leader of the hotline.
In addition, every Friday during the month of May from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Central time, experts will be available for live chats to share information more broadly with homeowners. Listeners can even submit if they are having trouble describing the problem.
Briggs & Stratton will also be giving away a $300 gift certificate each week to purchase a new lawn mower or other needed yard care equipment.
