Tattoos are usually very personal and unique. They can symbolize past struggles, ideal futures and dreams, memorials for loved ones and certain milestones in a person's life. Fitness buffs and athletes of all abilities are no exception.
Some have motivational messages (like yours truly); abstract concepts that convey courage and strength; straight-to-the-point artwork depicting the fitness tool of their choice, such as a bicycle or roller skate; and events that changed their lives, such as an obstacle race or marathon.
Would you go so far as to tattoo a logo on your body in the name of fitness? It’s done more often than you’d think. Twenty-four-hour gym company Anytime Fitness will reimburse you if you get a tattoo of its running-man logo. Simply submit a photo of the tattoo and describe why you want it. There are about 1,000 people from nine countries who have it, ABC reported.
Tough Mudder offers one free entry to those who get a tattoo of the Tough Mudder logo — sometimes tattoo artists are available on-site.
