If you’re thinking about upping your race mileage this year, and happen to be female, why not turn your thoughts into action and register for the nation’s largest all-women’s half marathon? Now in its 11th year, the More Magazine/Fitness Magazine Women’s Half-Marathon has become wildly popular. It expects more than 20,000 race participants and spectators this year, which is held annually in New York City’s beautiful Central Park.

This 13.1-miler is perfect for a newbie because of the support and encouragement you’ll receive from the women around you. You’ll run (or walk) among pros and first-timers, young and old, moms, daughters, wives and sisters all celebrating each other's awesomeness.

“The More Magazine/Fitness Magazine Women’s Half-Marathon is a celebration of active, inspirational and all-around extraordinary women,” said New York Road Runners president and CEO Mary Wittenberg. “For more than a decade, thousands of women of all ages and abilities have gathered at this powerful event — encouraging each other and motivating others — to run, move and make a meaningful commitment to their health and well-being.”
