Light-up turn-signal gloves keep bicyclists, runners safe on the road

Zackees Turn Signal Gloves are one of the greatest, practical soon-to-be-on-the-market products for the active crowd. They're literally turn signals for your hands and will keep you out of harm's way while biking, running, skating ... whatever.

Zackees is the brainchild of Zach Vorhies — a former Google Earth and Lucasfilm engineer — who partnered up with robotics specialist Murat Ozkan and fashion designer Wheylan Dean-Ford. They started a Kickstarter campaign to get help funding the high-volume manufacturing needed to produce these babies on a large scale.

So how do they work? Simply put the gloves on and go. There are no on-and-off switches to fool around with. To signal cars behind you, hold up your hand like you would with a regular bike hand signal. To be seen by cars in front, simply keep your hands on the handlebars with the back hand facing forward.

They are durable, washable and have a long battery life (two months of battery life with regular use).
