Melissa Valliant — Editor-in-Chief & Eats Editor
Melissa Valliant, editor-in-chief of HellaWella and editor of the food and drink section, graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University with a B.S. in magazine journalism and a B.A. in psychology. Before becoming the HellaWella Eats editor, she was rocking a senior writer position at Shut Up! Magazine, an independent quarterly music magazine. She also enjoyed unapologetically embracing her opinionated side writing as an opinion columnist for Syracuse University’s independent newspaper, The Daily Orange, and acting as editor of (315), a weekly lifestyle newspaper insert with music, movies, fashion, book, food and sex sections.
Jaclyn Bertner — House Editor
Jaclyn Bertner, house and home editor, received both her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Medill at Northwestern University and has more than five years of professional journalism experience. In addition to her role at HellaWella, Jaclyn is the managing editor for two trade publications: Home Channel News, which covers the home improvement retail industry, and Chain Store Age, which serves retail headquarters management. In the past, she has written for American Spa magazine.
Jennifer Mosscrop — Sweat Editor
Jennifer Mosscrop, fitness editor, is a graduate of the College of Staten Island/CUNY and has more than seven years of professional experience in the media industry. In addition to her role at HellaWella, Jen is the online editor at Chain Store Age, a leading trade publication serving retail headquarters management.
Previously, she worked as a newspaper reporter covering a range of topics at Breeze Newspapers in Cape Coral, Fla., and the Jersey Journal, in Jersey City, N.J., and freelance writer for the CollegeBound Network. Jen is always seeking out new and fun ways to stay active and practices what she preaches. She “Lives It HellaWella” every day as a skater with the Jerzey Derby Brigade, a women’s flat-track roller derby league in Morris County, N.J.
