Located in Northwest Illinois, Critter Camp Exotic Pet Sanctuary is home to more than 300 homeless unusual pets, all of which were abandoned, neglected or abused. The no-kill shelter cares for everything from guinea pigs and rats, to foxes, hedgehogs and bunnies. It depends on donations to help feed the critters every week. As part of its efforts to raise the funds it needs and to raise awareness, the sanctuary did an adorable Halloween photo shoot.
So without further ado, check out some of the critters at Critter Camp, and Happy Halloween!
Say, I kind of like this hat...
Sources say that Tod is, in fact, a little devil.
It's not possible for Alberta to be cuter than she is here. Unless she's hanging out with Rambo, that is.
Is that Pogo or Hamlet?
The hat suits you, Wiggles!
Don't hate me for being beautiful.
Critter Camp encourages fans of their Facebook page to share photos like these so they can raise awareness about the shelter and the critters they protect, and to raise funds.
What's going on? Where's all the candy?
No, Thelma! You're not a zombie and there's no brain in there!
I am totally cuter than this dude.
But I don't wanna put on a costume...
Oh, fine. Just the hat, though.
The sanctuary always points out that every dollar helps. Can’t donate money or supplies? There’s an app for that. No, really. It’s called ResqWalk, and if you choose Critter Camp (or the shelters of your choice), you help them raise money simply by firing up the app every time you go for a walk — help out the critters while doing groceries, walking to work or while trick-or-treating! Neat, huh?
