As it happens, we can’t keep a watchful eye on our pets 24/7. And thanks to the virtual world we live in, we don’t have to. There are a number of apps and websites that help take care of our canines.
Rover.com, which connects dog owners with local dog sitters, has unveiled a free mobile app for the Apple iPhone and iPad. The app offers three benefits not currently available via traditional texting:
• It facilitates communication between dog owners and sitters by providing them with a direct forum to share updates;
• It captures photos of the dog's stay in a central location for immediate and/or future use; and
• It allows owners to check in with their sitters to confirm when they came to the house, went to the park, etc.
"For many dog owners, myself included, traveling away from the home can be stressful. People constantly wonder whether or not their four-legged babies are receiving the love and attention that kennels cannot provide," said Aaron Easterly, CEO at Rover.com. "Our new app makes that knowledge just a tap of a finger away."
In addition, sitters will have easy access to all the information provided through Rover.com messaging and activity logs for easy management and communication.
And check out Rover.com’s Sit a Dog, Save a Life program, which helps raise funds for dog-related charities through participating sitters and their Rover.com transactions.
