iTunes gift cards are practically guaranteed to be a hit for anyone, but runners who need mood music to get them through that tough mile will be especially grateful. iTunes gift cardsHere’s an awesome soundtrack to get you started, songs that have all been created with the help of rock legend Dave Grohl.

His music has been a part of my life since I was a kid listening to Nirvana, and it’s awesome to witness his evolution to front man, documentary director and musical genius. Grohl has mastered the art of storytelling across genres, from producing country music, to directing the journey of his band, Foo Fighters, across America to create an album. He collaborates with emerging artists and fellow icons alike to make music that is pure magic. If you haven’t seen the documentaries “Back and Forth,” “Sound City” or “Sonic Highways”, please do so ASAP and get engrossed in Grohl’s history and creative process. (Pro tip: Check the television listings for Palladia and VH1 Classic because they play Sound City all the time.)

In the meantime, I hope this playlist gets you moving. I’m not promising holiday miracles, but let’s just say I found myself howling and high-fiving myself throughout my run with this mix. Happy Holidaves!
