We know a lot of you are just dying to get out there and float on the freshies. Before you grab your gear, prep your body – it may not be conditioned for the rigors of skiing or snowboarding, especially if you’re a weekend warrior.

Not sure where to begin? Check out a new signature fitness class called Aspen Ascent, offered at The Sports Club/LA in Boston, Miami, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., as well as Reebok Sports Club/NY. Aspen Ascent was designed through a partnership with Aspen/Snowmass (a ski resort in the Aspen/Snowmass area of Colorado), to prepare you for skiing and snowboarding by enhancing cardiovascular capacity while improving balance, agility, and core strength. The class is divided into three 20-minute segments focusing on agility and speed, strength and balance, and core and flexibility training, all three crucial for navigating the ski slope.

Through this partnership, members of the fitness clubs can snag a “preferred rate” to visit Aspen/Snowmass.

“Fitness is such an important part of skiing and riding, and showing up fit allows guests to get so much more enjoyment from their vacation,” said Katie Ertl, managing director, Ski & Snowboard Schools of Aspen/Snowmass in a press release. “We feel certain their members who take this course will show up on the slopes ready to go.”
