Save lives and the planet with recycled soap

Those of us fortunate enough to live in the developed world may not realize that the simple act of hand washing with soap substantially reduces the spread of infectious diseases and can be life-saving in countries with limited access to medical care. We also may not realize just how much bath product and paper towels we send to the landfill every day.

Clean Hands, Clean World is hoping to reduce that waste and save lives by providing recycled soap and reusable personal hand towels to impoverished communities around the world. Clean Hands, Clean World — a partnership between Clean the World, a charitable organization that collects and recycles soaps for distribution to needy communities, and PeopleTowels, a brand of reusable, personal hand towels — provides sustainable hand-washing kits to needy communities in such places as Haiti, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and even the United States.

A $10 donation is all it takes to send a kit. Or if you purchase a limited edition PeopleTowel for yourself, one will be donated to someone in need. Click here to learn more about Clean Hands, Clean World.
