Photographer Jordan Matter made headlines last year with his book, "Dancers Among Us," a collection of almost 200 spectacular shots of dancers jumping and posing through daily routines — at a coffee shop, crossing the street, shoveling snow and playing Frisbee in the park, for example.
The book made it to the New York Times best-seller list, and now Matter's back with a new twist: He's photographing athletes in everyday scenarios for a new collection called "Athletes Among Us." So far, he's captured U.S. Olympic rowing team members, NFL stars and competitive long boarders, among others, in New York, Chicago and San Francisco, according to Slate magazine.
