DoSomething.org and LG electronics are rewarding kids for the commitment to saving energy.

Understanding climate change and other environmental issues is hard enough for adults, so we can only imagine how tough it can be for kids. And what better way to get kids to do something than to reward them with cool prizes?

Now at the EPA’s new website, Team Energy Star, kids can share their energy-savings stories for a chance to win a number of prizes from DoSomething.org and LG Electronics, from their smartphones and computer monitors.

While on the site, kids can also check out tools to help protect the climate through easy-to-implement, money-saving actions — with the help of Dr. Seuss’ the Lorax.

“Team Energy Star is a great way to involve young people in two critical issues of our time — saving energy and protecting the climate,” said Sarah Dunham, director of EPA’s Office of Atmospheric Programs. “Engaging our country’s youth in making a difference today will make a big difference in securing a cleaner, more sustainable future.”
