InShape Workout of the Month: Functional moves for strength

Join InShape Fitness trainer Kim Watkins as she guides us through this equipment-free functional workout consisting of such fitness staples as squats, planks and burpees.

The team at InShape created inMOTION, a customized workout module that delivers you body weight exercises online, anywhere you are. You control three variables: the number of minutes to work out, difficulty levels (1-5) and functional focus, such as total body routine, weight loss, low impact, beach bod and prenatal. The player then launches with the prescribed session, with instruction provided by coach Kim, plus illustrations and written descriptions. You can pause the player to read about an exercise, repeat a move if you like and skip if you don’t like something.

inMOTION is currently in “beta-test” mode and is offered completely free of charge until the end of March. With your user account, you can save workouts so that you can go back to them later. The idea is that as you practice certain types of moves by listening to your coach’s instructions, each sequence will become more fluid and thus more productive. That gym visit may seem less important than ever!
